2020 Vintage — Mendoza, Argentina
‘Don Nicanor’ is Nieto Senetiner’s tribute to founder Don Nicanor Nieto, who established the bodega in Luján de Cuyo in 1888. The bottling sits a step above the standard Nieto Senetiner Malbec — a more concentrated, oak-influenced expression drawn from selected parcels in the bodega’s home territory of Luján de Cuyo and Valle de Uco, with vineyards at 950–1,050m elevation.
100% Malbec. Hand-harvested from older-vine parcels on alluvial soils. Vinification in stainless steel with extended skin contact, followed by ageing in French and American oak barrels (a portion new) for around 12 months before bottle ageing. Mendoza’s high-altitude growing conditions and reliable dry summer ripening deliver the signature deep colour, ripe black fruit and silky texture that defines premium Argentine Malbec.
