Deep ruby with a perfumed nose of blackcurrant, violet, graphite and cedar. The palate is silky and concentrated, with fine-grained tannins, layers of dark fruit and a savoury, gravelly minerality. Elegant, long and built for the cellar — drinking from 2026, peak 2030–2045.

2020 Vintage — Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux

3ème Grand Cru Classé en 1855. Château La Lagune is the southernmost of the classified growths of the Médoc, located on gravelly soils just north of Bordeaux city in the commune of Ludon-Médoc. Under the stewardship of Caroline Frey since 2004, the estate has been farmed biodynamically with certification achieved in 2016.

The 2020 vintage was marked by a dry, warm growing season punctuated by timely rainfall in August, producing concentrated, ripe berries with exceptional aromatic intensity. The blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon (around 60%) with Merlot (around 30%) and Petit Verdot (around 10%) completing the assemblage. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels (around 50% new), the wine combines classical Médoc structure with the polished, elegant style La Lagune is known for.
