One hundred per cent Syrah, from vineyards roughly 25 kilometres from the cold Atlantic on the West Coast at Vredendal. The maritime influence keeps sugars and alcohol in check and gives a cool-climate profile rarely associated with the region.
Peppery and floral aromatically, with red and blue fruit, fine-grained tannins and a savoury, saline finish. Structured but light on its feet — a Syrah of detail rather than weight.
