2025 Vintage — Stellenbosch, South Africa
Ken Forrester is South Africa’s most influential Chenin Blanc producer — the man who, more than anyone, pulled the variety from its bulk-wine past into its current premium identity. The estate sits on the cool, granite-and-clay slopes of the Helderberg in Stellenbosch, where old bush-vine Chenin parcels (some over 50 years old) yield small crops of intensely concentrated fruit.
The Old Vine Reserve is sourced from these dryland old-bush-vine vineyards, hand-harvested, whole-bunch pressed, then partly fermented and aged in older French oak (a small portion new) for around 9 months with regular lees stirring. The result is Chenin with weight, mineral cut and length — designed to drink well on release and reward up to a decade of cellaring.
