2025 Vintage — Stellenbosch, South Africa
The FMC is Ken Forrester’s flagship Chenin Blanc — the wine that helped redefine the global perception of what Cape Chenin could be. Named after Forrester’s late mother, Frances Mary Christine, it is a small-production cuvée sourced from the estate’s oldest dryland-bush-vine Chenin parcel on granite soils in Stellenbosch.
Hand-harvested at multiple passes, naturally fermented and aged for around 10 months in 100% new French oak (predominantly 300-litre demi-muid) on the lees with regular bâtonnage. The wine sees no malolactic conversion, preserving Chenin’s signature acidity through the oak weight. Built for the long haul — drinks beautifully on release, but rewards a decade or more in the cellar.
