Kaapzicht Bottelary Hills Estate Blend 2022

£18.95 incl. VAT

6 in stock

Deep, opaque purple-black. Layered nose of cassis, dark plum, mulberry and cedar with savoury notes of crushed herbs, graphite and a whisper of vanilla and cocoa from the barrel. Full-bodied with grippy, fine-grained tannins, a generous core of dark berry fruit and a long, mineral-led finish. Built for the long haul — equally at home with venison, slow-roast lamb or a mature cheeseboard.

2022 Vintage — Bottelary Hills, Stellenbosch, South Africa

Kaapzicht is a fourth-generation family estate on the cool, granite-rich slopes of the Bottelary Hills in Stellenbosch — one of the Cape’s most distinctive terroirs, where Atlantic and False Bay breezes funnel through the valley to keep ripening slow and even. The Steytler family has farmed here since 1946.

The Bottelary Hills Estate Blend is Kaapzicht’s flagship red — a classical five-variety Cape-Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Shiraz, drawn from the estate’s oldest dryland-bush-vine and trellised parcels. Aged in French oak (a portion new) for around 18 months to build structure without losing site character.
