9 in stock

Deep ruby with a violet rim. Tremendous brilliance on the nose — garrigue character of dried thyme, oregano and Cape fynbos over blackcurrant, mulberry and a graphite edge. Medium- to full-bodied with fine-grained tannins, a herbal-savoury mid-palate and a long, mineral-driven finish. Excellent with roast lamb, grilled vegetables and harder cheeses.

2021 Vintage — Stellenbosch, South Africa

Glenelly Estate sits high on the slopes of the Helderberg in Stellenbosch, founded by May-Eliane de Lencquesaing — the former owner of Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande in Pauillac. She brought a Bordeaux sensibility to the Cape, planting on cool, well-drained granite and decomposed-shale soils 200–400m above sea level.

The Glass Collection is Glenelly’s accessible everyday range, named after Madame de Lencquesaing’s celebrated collection of antique glass. Cabernet Franc here gets a Cape-Bordeaux treatment — old-vine fruit, gentle extraction and a measured period of French-oak maturation, building a savoury, herbal red with the estate’s signature mineral structure.
