Bright, brilliant pale straw with a subtle green hue. Aromatic nose of citrus, white peach, wildflowers and grilled nuts over a delicate mineral spine. The palate is crisp and refreshing with focused stone-fruit and lemon-zest flavours, a saline mid-palate and a clean, dry finish. Excellent as an aperitif or with seafood, salads and roast chicken.
2024 Vintage — Stellenbosch, South Africa
Glenelly Estate sits high on the slopes of the Helderberg in Stellenbosch, founded by May-Eliane de Lencquesaing — the former owner of Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande in Pauillac. She brought a Bordeaux sensibility to the Cape, planting on cool, well-drained granite and decomposed-shale soils 200–400m above sea level.
The Glass Collection is Glenelly’s accessible everyday range, named after Madame de Lencquesaing’s celebrated collection of antique glass. This unwooded Chardonnay is fermented and aged exclusively in stainless steel to preserve fruit clarity and freshness — no oak, no malolactic softening. A young, lively expression of cool-site Stellenbosch Chardonnay.
