Tramin Stoan Alto Adige 2023

£31.95 incl. VAT

6 in stock

Straw-gold with a pale lemon tint. Peach, ripe pear and elderflower open on the nose alongside tropical notes of pineapple and mango. The palate is fresh and precise — polished orchard fruit, crisp mineral tones and a hint of sweet spice, all held together by bright natural acidity and a long, clean finish.

2023 Vintage — Alto Adige DOC, South Tyrol, Italy

Cantina Tramin is one of Alto Adige’s most celebrated cooperatives, founded in 1898 in the village of Termeno sul la Strada del Vino — the ancient home of the Gewürztraminer grape. Under the direction of winemaker Willi Stürz, the cantina has built a reputation for wines of exceptional precision and Alpine freshness, drawing on vineyards planted between 400 and 600 metres above sea level where cool nights preserve natural acidity and aromatic intensity.

Stoan is Cantina Tramin’s signature white blend and one of Alto Adige’s most distinctive wines. The 2023 is a blend of 65% Chardonnay, 20% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Pinot Bianco and 5% Gewürztraminer, all harvested from nine hectares of estate vines. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel to preserve freshness, with the Chardonnay component spending time on the lees for added texture. The 2023 growing season brought a mild winter, a cool and wet spring and a warm summer punctuated by rain in early September — conditions that demanded careful work in the vineyard and ultimately delivered wines of vivid freshness and fine-boned elegance.
