Ataraxia Chardonnay 2024

£28.95 incl. VAT

12 in stock

Restrained, elegant nose of white peach, lemon curd, struck-flint and toasted hazelnut. The palate is taut and finely textured — bright citric acidity, creamy lees, a savoury oak frame and a long, mineral, mouth-watering finish.

2024 Vintage — Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge, Western Cape, South Africa

Ataraxia’s Chardonnay comes from the high, cool slopes of the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge, behind Hermanus and the Atlantic. Kevin Grant’s vineyards sit on Bokkeveld shale at elevations that yield modest bunches and bright, mineral-driven fruit — a benchmark style for Cape Chardonnay.

100% Chardonnay, hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed. Wild-yeast fermentation in 300-litre French oak (around a quarter new) followed by ten months on lees with minimal intervention.
