£24.45 incl. VAT

3 in stock

Isole e Olena Chianti Classico 2019 is made from 83% Sangiovese, 15% Canaiolo and 2% Syrah. This lovely, delicious red races out of the gate with enticing scents of perfumed berries, blue flowers, forest floor and baking spice. Smooth and savoury, the juicy palate features ripe Morello cherry, crushed raspberry, white pepper and star anise alongside polished tannins. It’s already drinking beautifully but will also offer several years of sheer pleasure. Drink through 2025.

In recent years Paolo de Marchi has worked hard to create and refine the conditions for the production of top-quality wines. For the Piedmontese owner of the Isole e Olena winery, the place where quality is decided is the vineyard. The trained oenologist, who settled in 1976 in the west of Chianti Classico near the hamlets of Isole and Olena in the then still unprofitable parental estate, studied among other things at the Research Institute for Horticulture and Viticulture in Geisenheim and at the famous Research Institute in Montpellier. To this day, Paolo has uncompromisingly adhered to the peculiarities of Tuscan wine culture in order to prevent the plants from becoming more and more similar in taste worldwide.
