Muratie Melck’s Blended Red 2020
Where most of the wines in the portfolio are special occasion wines, this Muratie Melck’s Blended Red 2020 is a medium-bodied blend intended for everyday enjoyment. However, it too is sourced entirely from the estate, and while unpretentious it is well-crafted with its soft tannins, bright red berries and hints of white pepper and chocolate from careful oaking.

VINEYARD
The blend constitutes a selection of grapes from various vineyards on the wine estate.
VINIFICATION
The Melck’s Blended Red 2017 is a blend of Merlot (61%), Shiraz (18%), Mourvedre (12%), Pinot Noir (5%), & Petit Verdot (4%). The grapes were hand harvested and made in a combination of stainless steel tanks and open fermenters and was elegantly oaked for 16 months in second and third fill French oak barrels.

ANALYSIS
Alcohol 14.29 %
Residual Sugar 4.1 g/l
Total Acid 5.5 g/l
pH 3.51

THE MELCK’S STORY

Just as the history of Muratie dates back centuries, so does the Melck family vintage. And over the years they have invested in their staff this sense of family. Social upliftment has long been a cornerstone of Muratie’s culture. Thus everyone on the farm is steeped in knowledge of the growing and winemaking processes – working as one for the betterment of all, as all close families do.
